Fundamentals of Biosurfactants, Bio-based Surfactants and Biopolymers: Overview, Properties and Formulation Design

Course Overview

This will be a two-day LIVE online course on fundamentals of biosurfactants, bio-based surfactants and biopolymers. The course will give an overview of the landscape of these new emerging materials, their chemistry and classification, routes of production, understanding of their physico-chemical properties and routes to optimize the structure-property-performance linkages for effective formulation design. The challenges with these new materials will also be highlighted. This knowledge will be key to development of novel sustainable products.

This course can be combined with the ON-DEMAND course Fundamentals of Surfactants, Emulsions, and Polymers for Cosmetic Formulations for a discounted price (see below).

Who Should Attend

This course will be of interest and value to scientists, formulators, supervisors, and managers engaged in development, formulation, production, analytical characterization of personal care and consumer products especially home care and agro-products that require a good working knowledge of these emerging novel materials. The course will be also of interest to chemical suppliers who are starting to develop these bio-materials.

Those completing the course will receive a course completion certificate from the SCC.

[Note: those registering for the course combo after 07/17/2023 will have a reduced access window for viewing the on-demand course: Fundamentals of Surfactants, Emulsions, and Polymers for Cosmetic Formulations--through 08/20/2023]

Fundamentals of Surfactants, Emulsions, and Polymers for Cosmetic Formulations is an online ON-DEMAND course (previously recorded) that will be offered between July 17, 2023 and August 20, 2023, with a Live Q&A session scheduled for July 31, 2023. If signing up for both courses, the recommended path would be to first view the on-demand course (Fundamentals of Surfactants, Emulsions, and Polymers for Cosmetic Formulations) between July 17-31, 2023 (including the Live Q&A on July 31), and to then participate in the live course (Fundamentals of Biosurfactants, Bio-based Surfactants and Biopolymers: Overview, Properties and Formulation Design) on August 2 & 3, 2023 (plus subsequent replay window).

This course path allows attendees to learn/review more fundamental aspects of colloidal science and cosmetic formulation, before moving on to the specialized sustainable formulation topics of Biosurfactants, Bio-Based Surfactants, and Bipolymers.
